Abstract
Tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade may substantially affect competition and its adoption may collide with the principies of the
Brazilian antitrust legislation. Restrictions to competition and the adoption of price policies conflict directly to the free competition principie and may lead into the consolidation of the market power detained by the dominant agents. The low levei of institutional integration between antitrust authorities and foreign trade authorities restrict the analysis of those aspects when governmental intervention over the markets occur. In this sense, this work aims to suggest guidelines to new cooperative mechanisms and the improvement of the relation between antitrust and foreign trade authorities.
