Abstract
With the development of professional sports in Brazil during the last decades, especially soccer, it is possible to note its increasing
economic aspect. Such as any other economic activity, there is the purpose of profitability and there are severa! commercial interests related to it, such as: static advertising, sponsorship in uniform of competition, product licensing of clubs, sports marketing of brands, investment in clubs and sports, partnerships between clubs and companies, among others. Considering its economic nature, sport activity should also be subject to the application of antitrust laws. Therefore, this article aims at highlighting the competitive concerns regarding the sport activity and to demonstrate how the foreign jurisdictions are treating the matter, with the purpose of promoting the discussion in Brazil and call the attention to an increasingly significant issue.
