Abstract
This article seeks to analyze the European Union’s Regulation 2023/1115, which bans the sale of certain products that come from
deforested areas in the European common market. Since the scope of the measure includes commodities of great importance to Brazilian exports, the aim is to demonstrate the context in which this regulation was elaborated, its main provisions, its compatibility with trade and environmental agreements and the first impacts of the regulation in Brazil.
