Genderwashing no comércio global desafios e Estratégias em direção ao #ODS5 da ONU

O artigo parte da incerteza de até que ponto as iniciativas pró igualdade de gênero que estão sendo oferecidas via Estado e via
Mercado estão efetivamente respondendo às lacunas de gênero, ou promovendo Genderwashing e gerando novos problemas. Genderwashing se manifesta quando uma organização aparenta preocupação com igualdade de gênero, mas não adota medidas efetivas para corrigir lacunas entre homens e mulheres dentro das suas esferas de poder. Pode-se dizer que é o fenômeno descreve uma “Máscara de Gênero” que é utilizada, existindo uma lacuna entre o que se propõe e o que se pratica. No âmbito do comércio global, Genderwashing gera desafios como a falsa impressão de progresso que atrasa o desenvolvimento de ações efetivas, e a criação de barreiras comerciais indesejadas que impedem o acesso de atores menos favorecidos ao comércio global. São sugeridas
três estratégias básicas para nortear melhores práticas em direção ao #ODS5: combater o Genderwashing e promover a igualdade de gênero no comércio global: (1) ter representatividade feminina diversa na tomara de decisão, (2) adotar abordagem interseccional nas iniciativas de gênero, e (3) aplicar o que se refere como “lente de gênero” de forma transversal nas políticas e práticas comerciais.
